Over the past few days numerous threads have been deleted. I suppose that CU is attempting to regain control of the board by censoring certain topics and discussions. If the thread is filled with personal attacks then I have no problem with it but many that were removed were dealing with collectors concerns about CU business practices.
Don't know about you but I find this approach indicative of the problem that exists at CU/PSA.

I also found this a bit odd. The one that I thought was the strangest was where certain board members were screaming about "naming names"....if people knew which dealers were doctoring cards, please tell the rest of the folks who they were. Well, as soon as a few names started popping up, the thread went AWOL. Also odd was the one where botn threw out an olive branch to the CU board -- mysteriously deleted, as well. Strange indeed.

I agree...a harmless post about the new GAI website being up was deleted twice. Not a single anti-PSA, anti-CU, anti-Joe comment on the thread, yet it was deleted.
I thought the more classy thing to do would have been to leave the thread up...but lately, the folks at PSA haven't showed much class.

Link to GAI website
Aconte...I read and re-read that thread and it was just an announcement about the website being up...with comments as "it's an improvement" "still haven't setup the registry" but that was it. I have posted a thread on the PSA board about my concerns with this.

I like it that now I do not or will not get attacked every post I put up.
However, all controversy will have been eliminated from the board. This seems to be what at least a significant minority of posters want and it is obviously what psa wants. Who knows--perhaps more will post here.
Regardless, information I find out regarding dealer and grading practices will only be discussed privately with those interested from now on--I like serious discussions and debate but I do not like personal attacks.

I guess I was away from the computer when someone was naming names. Anyways...if anyone wants to send me a private message with the details..feel free to do so.

CU has every right to not host posts that are merely attacking their company. They have been very patient over the last couple of years to allow users to be extremely critical of them. However, given their current position of not providing full disclosure, I have real trouble with this additional censorship.
Maybe it is time for a tell all.

Tony, Are you gonna get your redman box graded? Is that what you were hinting to or something else?

Hey grillo, your posts keep disappearing from the other board -- what's the deal?

srs1a...I have no reason why my posts keep getting deleted. I am going to send an e-mail to Mr Orlando asking why. I think everyone realizes my posts are non-confrontational. If it's just because I am a GAI customer, then I think I deserve an explanation from Mr Orlando.
However, I will not lose any sleep over it. But if this is the type of company PSA has become, well let me say that I feel extra, extra sure that switching over to GAI was the right move.
EDITED: (added). I will no longer post on a board (The PSA board) that doesn't allow a discussion about card collecting or card grading, especially when one abides by the rules of the forum. It's ridiculous for PSA to act like a "child" who takes their ball and goes home. I've decided not to e-mail Mr Orlando because now I don't care. I'll stick to the SGC forum and other forums as well. At least I know if I stick to the rules I won't get my thoughts/posts deleted for no apparent reason.

grilloj39,
It was Joe himself that tossed me off of the site when I had voiced an opinion about some PSA graded cards. His underlying motivation was because I was a PSA Authorized Dealer who was supportive of GAI and SGC. I think that the environment over there at PSA is such that if Joe answers you it will be phrased in a way that says very little.
CU wants to reclaim their boards and keep out anything that is going to be anti-PSA or in favor of any other grading service.
Greg

botn...that's fine with me. I give credit to SGC for allowing more of a "open" forum and I hope GAI does the same when their message boards start up as well.
I guess that's why I didn't e-mail Joe Orlando because I already knew the response I would have received. In putting myself in Joe's shoes, I understand to a degree. But I think he is being a little over-reactionary as of late. If I was a PSA customer, I wouldn't like the direction the company was heading.
