VaYank,

How do you know it is seven days to go? I'm under the impression that the
Sgc registry will be available in October some time. I did not know if it would
happen right on October 1st.

I hate to see you get your hopes up too high and then think that Sgc did
not hit their date. I'm sure some of the Psa consumers are eager to see
Sgc not succeed in this venture.

For me it is a definite good thing. I can't wait either but I haven't started
any clock!

Tony, you are correct. I have always said I want it right more than I want righ now. I'm being an optimist.

On the other hand two and a half hours to go before the Fort Washington
show! Now I'm really excited.

If I hear anything on the Sgc Registry I'll post it on the board tonight
or tomorrow.

Later!

Matthew,

I spoke with Sean at the Ft. Washington show tonight. He's hoping the
registry will be up by mid October. Hopefully, the 15th or so. I'm definitely
looking forward to it.

The show was very busy. Sgc was doing onsite grading. Psa was not.
I don't think Beckett or Gai were at the show this time. I'm not sure since
I did not ask. I didn't have a lot of time to browse. There sure looked like there
was a lot of traffic at the show though. Sgc was quite busy. I'm sure it helped
that Psa was not doing onsite grading. I did see a few people crossing
over various vintage Psa holdered cards to Sgc holdered cards.

I crossed over 5 of my 8 1954 Psa 8 red man cards to Sgc 88's. Three
were not certain to cross so I kept them in the Psa holder. I did this in
anticipation for the set registry. I'm hoping to register my 1954 set on the
Sgc registry. Possibly more down the line... There accuracy of their grading
keeps me coming back for more! Derek accurately and consistently grades
these cards on the mark. He knows his stuff!

Overall, the Ft. Washington show was fun. I didn't see much in terms of
red man cards. One dealer had some Psa 8's and a 7. I didn't need much.
He had one card I needed. However, I felt it was overgraded. Mr. Mint
has three red man sets up for auction at the end of September. They
were at the show for preview. He says they are the best he's ever seen
at nm/mt to mt+++. They were nice in the felt black background binder.
But I guess my definition of nm/mt is a tad different than his. I thought
that most cards were ex/mt to nm overall.

Talk to you soon and happy collecting.

Any new news?

Well, here it is the 15th, and we have yet to hear a "drum roll".

As a kid I remember how long it took for ketchup to come out of the bottle. I learned to be patient, cause I knew it would taste good once it finally came out.

Let's hope the SGC Registry works the same way!!

I chatted with Sean last week. October remains the "unveiling" month....

Who ever said "No news is good news!" is wrong in this case.

Sure would like to know what's the status!
