I'm just posting some of my thoughts on improvements to SGC 2004. SGC to start a SGC graded cards for sale, something just like Ebay has on there Buy it now program, people would regeister, SGC would charge a commission on sales, SGC would just be the middle man no different then if I was to put a ad in PSA insider for cards and they would make money off of my ad. This would ad a revenue to the company, to help it stay stronger, plus to help it make improvements. Second SGC collecter of the quarter posted on there website, Third SGC card of the month pre, post and modern, SGC would post a card they graded, people would have to check website if there card was posted they would recieve a free grading.
Remeber for every SGC graded card you own, its like owning a piece of stock in the company, and if you have any ideas come to make the company stonger. List them. Thanks John

My first suggestion is that you might fill out your profile so that we have some clue as to whom you are. Surely if you wish to help drive process improvement at SGC, you would want to share your identity as well.
Regards
Ron

i would like to see more quality control in the encapsulation room. i hate when the insert isn't cut properly(see my 78 rudi)i also hate to see "things" floating around inside too. lose the 100 point scale and go with the 1 to 10 with half grades.after all they are the only grading company that uses it? collectors want it to be simple if sgc wants to split hairs let them do it in the grading room. i really don't see the need for it. i would have no problem if they started labeling them sgc 9.5 or sgc 10 .

Improvements?
Don't sell any cards, just grade. If collector's want to buy an SGC card, they can do it on ebay. Selling the stuff that they grade is the downfall of the other companies.
Leave the 10-100 scale alone. There is always a difference in cards between a 9-10. Not all 9's are created equal.
In other words, if it ain't broke.........

Keeping the consistent, quality grading is #1. However, here are some things that come to mind:
1. Ability to create and submit an online invoice. The online forms aren't very friendly and the paper approach seems antiquated. This would be an efficiency boost for both the customer and SGC.
2. Continued improvements to the Set Registry. Getting the proper card sort for How I Collect and a bigger/better font would be nice. It also moves pretty slow when editing and uploading images (even on a solid DSL line).
3. Serial # or certification # look-up would be nice
4. Improvements on the holder and label. Keep the split grade. I'd still like to see or know what the sub-grades are for the grade received (even if I could check this online without altering the label). Print quality control and ink used on label could be better. UV protected plastic on holder, if not already.

Plenty of good suggestions here. I particuarly like the online invoice submission. Easier for the submitter and it would streamline things on the SGC end. They wouldn't have to input invoices manually. Submitters would need to invoice # with their cards, and then SGC would need to only match up, and perhaps the mistake when it happens. That would have to be a big time savings.

One thing i think SGC could do to improve there Registry is to get rid of the "drop down" boxes and list every set on one main paige like PSA does. The drop down boxes are the main thing i don't like about the SGC registry, id rather see all the sets listed in that sport than just one ay a time.
