MW1 --

Proof is ... proof. It's not the same as innuendo or unsubstantiated rumor. When factual, evidence is not subject to intpretation.

I'd recommend that you post it without regard to your opinion poll.

BTW ... welcome back to the forum.

Undecided.

Would a major hobby publication like to "break" this story first? Perhaps that venue reaches the largest audience.

I'd check with the board moderators first about the content and tact of your proposed post and if it meets their approval, then post it. No need in starting something that will utlimately get pulled and possibly you.

I would check with the moderator first and make sure it is nothing that's going to get you in "hot water." If it is OK by them, it is definitely OK by me.

Edited to add: And that goes for any other post on this forum.

Well I'm not sure.

I'll go with my intial response and agree with grillo on this. If it is ok
with the mods then post away. But if it is a grey area then not sure.
Honestly, no matter what is posted in all likelyhood the same people
that believed you before would still. The diehards would stay say
you are just causing trouble. Whatever the card might be....

Me... I'd believe you without the signed document. But that would
add some flavor though. HeeHee...

Absolutely yes. For that matter, any info that you feel certain about concerning card restoration and/or dealers that are doing it I would like to see on this board.

I believe this can be the honesty--tell it like it is board for serious collectors and the psa boards will be the feel good boards where no serious topics are brought up and if they were collectors would be afraid to voice an opinion for fear of getting bounced or ripped by the trolls.

If you have ironclad proof then I wouldn't be shy in posting here however, I'm not sure that posting it here as your first course of action is the right way to go. I would think that a respectable news agency would be interested in such a story since those types of organizations generally report on the sale of such cards.

MW,

Please be careful whatever you do. I believe that you will be the subject of legal action if/when you break this information publicly. Are you sure that the Dr. in question isn't setting you up..and is he credible enough to handle the scrutiny that this issue may generate?

Do what you think is right, but consider all of the consequences.

My vote is No. Not that I think every grading company makes mistakes - but I think to make your point with this known doctored example, cards having gone through the same alterations should also be submitted to SGC and GAI to confirm that their inspection process would recognize and reject the cards.

Unless you can show SGC and GAI caught similar cards, my opinion is that your info will fall into the anti-PSA propoganda.

Just my opinion.
