The 64 Topps Giants is a great place to look for bargains on highly graded stars like Mantle, Clemente, etc...it is really a nice looking set, and NJDolphins' card up for auction is equally beautiful as well. I am about 20% complete with my Topps Giants set--I already have the Mantle in GAI 8.5 (pre-graded) otherwise I would be bidding on this card as I am looking for Topps Giants cards in SGC holders.

This last month the range for PSA 8s on eBay was $76 to $96. Therefore, I'm going to guess $115.00 for the SGC 92.

I follow these cards a little bit. That average is starting to make a comeback.
Around the fall and Christmas that average Psa eight I saw was anywhere
from $55 to $75. The half grade bump has little to no effect most times for
the HOFers. Guys like Spahn, B. Robinson, and Marichal go pretty cheap
in 8, 8.5, or 9. You get the occassional spike.

So my guess is around $100. However, given the excellent marketing and
sales techniques it could go much higher. Plus it is a high end 50/50
centered card. But I'll go with $101.50

Yeah $9.52 is not too far to be off huh? If you add in the $3.00 for shipping, I'm only $6.52 off. Man am I good! What's my prize?

Hmmmmm.... I would have to say that VintageD is the winner. I grew up watcing "Price Is Right" and it was always the best guess without going over.

VintageD, if you want to PM me your address, I have a 1961 SGC graded card to supply as the prize.

Ron,

Thanks for the sweet ' 61! If I didnt look at the grade, I'd say it was an 84 easy. You are right, its the best looking 5 out there. I've got a Duke Snider from 61 thats not even centered close to this and its a 5. I think someone goofed. Thanks again! I'm going to go add it to my 61 registry right now.
I checked ebay and there's a diamond cut, off centered 61 Davis up for auction now that PSA gave a 6. Now I dont put much faith in PSA but still, this card deserves a better fate than a 5. I know the few print dots didnt kill the grade that badly.

Jim

Jim

You are most welcome. I stared at that card long and hard after it came back from SGC. After about 30 mins or so, I thought I saw a very very hard to detect wrinkle. Not sure if I hallucinated it to make myself feel better or not

Glad you enjoyed the surprise.
