I would be interested to know what other collectors think about this. Currently, what do others feel some of the hottest baseball cards are by decade?
Here are a few of my picks:
1900-1910 - T206 Cobb 1910-1920 - 1914 Cracker Jack Mathewson 1920-1930 - 1925 Exhibit Gehrig RC 1930-1940 - 1939 Ted Williams RC 1940-1950 - 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson RC 1960-1970 - 1963 Rose RC 1970-1980 - 1978 Murray RC 1980-1990 ??? 1990-2000 ??? 2000-present ???

What's the market on the MJ rookie card like now a days? I remember it was a really hot card back in the early 90's (last time I bought cards) but it was getting counterfeited all the time.

Is there anything from the 80's, 90's, or 00's really worth buying. I can't remember the last time I bought anything other than pre 1980's cards.

From the 80's- 87 Fleer Bonds cards have been selling, but at lower levels than 2 years ago. Look for his cards to move upward as he approaches the home run record. Other cards showing good volume from the 80's are Palmiero, Maddux and R. Johnson.
In the 90's you have A. Pujols, A-Rod, M. Tejada, and to a lesser extent Jeter, M. Ramirez, and Piazza.
Ichiro and A. Soriano and currently leading the 2000 crop.
The big problem with 90's cards is that there are so many Rc's of a given player. It's difficult to narrow down which is a players most popular RC card.

For whatever reason, I neglected to add the decade of the 1950s in my initial post. Here it is now:
1950-1960 --> 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle & Willie Mays, 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle & Eddie Mathews, 1953 Bowman Whitey Ford, 1955 Topps Ted Williams, 1956 Topps Mickey Mantle, 1957 Hank Aaron, Willie Mays & Ted Kluszewski, 1958 Willie Mays
And if I had to pick just ONE from this decade? That's easy. It's the 1952 Topps Eddie Mathews -- my pick for the most popular card from the 1950s.

Let's not forget about the 1953 Bowman Pee Wee Reese - an absolute classic!
