Is anyone thinking about collecting this set??? if there is any set of TODAY that i would collect..its one that looks like the 50s cards to the tee... im thinking about buyin a case for each year as they go on and putting a set together in honor of my favorite card designs... i already have a 2001 heritage master set (value something like 500 or 600?) ..but i didnt collect the 2002 set cause i really dont think the 53 design was all that compelling. At any rate..im thinking about definitely collecting the sets to come for many years....only set i dont particulary care for is 61 topps...every other design i absolutely love....54,55,56,57,58,59,60,62,63,64,65 are some of my favorites....what are yours and tell me your thoughtson these new cards with an old look??

Lothar,

I decided to type. I don't want you to get mad at me!

I don't collect any modern product at all. Anything I might accidently pick
up that is new I give away. Sorry for the limited input. But it was
something...

no thats cool...thats your opinion...i only want to collect these "modern" cards of yesteryear cause its not like you can buy a case of 54's anymore...WOULDNT THAT BE SOMETHING..but this is prolly the next best thing i guess..

even though i collect vintage i still love the heroes of today, althought they not really heroes anymore then they are "stock"... and when it performs it goes up..when it dont it goes down... vintage...now they are heroes...and there stock means something more.. it means history, it means pasttime, and it means more stable values and long term

If I went to collecting modern, I would look to issues like this. They have an attractive classic design that envokes a nostalgic era...good choice, Lothar

Lothar,

My favorite Topps issues are from 1974 to 1978.

I never got to wound up with the Topps baseball set from 52,54,55, and 56.
I've seen some of this retro product and it's ok if you like the old design.

This is probably another reason why I did not give it second thought. But
either way if you liked some of those old sets some of these newer sets
might be neat to chase.

Old, dense-headed hammers are cool. Best nail pounders.

Lothar,

I worked on the '01 and '02 Hertitage sets (with a couple of other guys), but we all got really frustrated with all the SP's and wierdo variations (eg. the night variations from last year). In short, we gave up. 3 of us bought 4 boxes each and not one of us completed a set either year....even with trading all of our dupes. I'm not sure why we even tried the second year, but we did.

I'm sure they will figure out how to make the sets inpossible once again, but I have learned my lesson.

Scott

P.S. I do like the designs, though.

guess that is why the master set for 2001 heritage is like 500-600 dollars... wild
