This is good news for the hobby at-large. As I mentioned before, the more choices we have, the better off we are. Likewise, more competition in the industry pushes companies to higher levels of service.

The PSA Board should be ashamed of themselves. For a company that supposed to be untouchable, they spend alot time being afraid, and trying to change the topic.
This shameless behavior demonstrates that neither PSA or GA has much confidence in their future.
Thank you Sean! I'm revving up another lot!!

aconte,
I agree with you. It is very hard for me to understand the venom that sometimes surfaces between collectors of the various grading companies. In my book, SGC, PSA and GAI are all legit outfits and should be commended for their efforts. They are all the grading "good guys" and we should (collectively) focus our venom on the fly-by-night operations.

GAI has rolled up some pretty impressive numbers. Unfortunately those "impressive numbers" are printed in red and are on the wrong side of the ledger.
GAI, again and again, has proven to be an unreliable source of information. From its initial announcement of 10,000 submissions at the March 2002 Ft. Washington show to Steve Rocchi's elaborately spun fairy tales, it's quite obvious that GAI's business model involves a certain, well-used magic 8-ball.
SGC's press release clearly positions the company as the most viable grader of vintage sports cards.

"This shameless behavior demonstrates that neither PSA or GA has much confidence in their future."
Lets not confuse the postings on someone's board as equal to corporate culture. It may or may not be the same.

The irony is that the "other" board thinks that this board does nothing but attack PSA. Granted MW1 is vocal about his support for SGC, and dislike of other companies grading and business practices. At least he starts a thread and doesn't hide it or pepper his comments in unrelated threads. I can't count the number of threads where the mere mention of SGC or BGS is a signal to unleash the hounds and ridicule the person posting and SGC. I'm glad SGC finally commented on this rumor. It shows that the company hears our concerns and responds to them. Let's stay positive on this board and build a solid card collecting community.
