Hi, all! I was just browsing because the coin boards are kind of quiet. Everyone must be at shows this weekend. Anyway, since I'm here I thought I may as well ask:
Can anyone tell me what these are worth?
I have 18 factory boxes of baseball cards and 4 smaller sets of MLB Debut, Rookies & Traded. In all, there are more than 12,000 cards. Some of the boxes have been opened, some not, but all of the cards are intact and in "factory" mint condition. I'm not a card collector, it's just that I couldn't sleep one night and buying these (I can't believe I did a QVC!) gave me something to do to pass the time. It was more than 10 years ago, and the boxes are still sitting on a shelf.
Topps 1986 - 792ct 1986 - 500ct 1987 - 792ct 1987 - 500ct 1989 - 500ct 1989 - MLB Debut - 150ct 1989 - Traded Series - 132ct 1990 - 792ct 1990 - 500ct 1991 - 792ct
Donruss 1987 - 650ct(?) Estimated because I don't want to open them. Anyone know the actual count? 1988 - 650ct(?) Ditto '87 1989 - Rookies - 57ct 1990 - 650ct(?) Ditto '87 & '88 1991 - 784ct
Fleer 1988 - 672ct 1989 - 672ct 1990 - 672ct
Upper Deck 1991 - 800ct 1994 - 670ct
Bowman 1989 - 484ct
Score 1989 - Rookie & Traded - 120ct
Thanks in advance!
Chris

Yes there is someone here so I will break the news to you(since nobody else will) that your collection of unopened boxes is worth less then it will cost to ship
Like I said, I'm not a card collector. I was just looking for an honest answer.
Thanks,
Chris

Sometimes it sucks when you can't sleep. In your case it costs a lot of money too because jackstraw is basically right. Most of this stuff is not worth the space it is taking up. Sorry about you bad luck.
aconte
It didn't cost me that much! I don't think it was bad luck either. Look at it this way...................
One day someone, possibly a relative, will be the proud owner of sets of mintstate baseball cards that are 150 years old.
Chris

By the way, Donruss factory sets in the 1980s were generally 660 cards.
I believe that your "best set" is 1989 Upper Deck, worth about $30 to $60.
The others are under $10 (some under $5), for the most part.

I think that in 150 years your relatives will only have to wait about another 150 years to maybe get $200 for everything.
Does that $200 include 300 years of inflation on the shipping costs ...
