phatty doesn't know much about cards but phatty has been hearing about a major security breach involving some grading company's plasticine holders. phatty is wondering what happened. and what's this about a deadline? phatty promises to get to the bottom of things.

phatty has been reading mw1's posts about some scandal and phatty has an idea. before the guys at wiwag resealed all the psa holders, they should have put some salsa and guacamole in with the lower quality baseball cards. that way, all of the west coast collectors would have been distracted. phatty knows that mexican food is very big in southern california. where does phatty get his delightful inspiration from? sometimes phatty doesn't even know.

why does phatty suspect that holder? srs1a see a little chip mark in the lower-right, and a little fog that goes up the right side of the seal. does phatty think that the chip mark was the spot where the holder was opened?

On the card itself, the centering is really marginal for an 8NQ IMHO -- I also wonder about the "bleed through" from the front to back -- is this OK for an 8? I know next to nothing about Goudeys except they sure look nice.

Again, I'll state that I think PSA handled the WIWAG situation very poorly. I think the subject of "suspicious looking holders" will be on the various message boards for years to come.

Even though Phatty, by his own admission, knows little about cards, I imagine that when he sees a trimmed card in a PSA 8 holder (as there seems to be an unlimited supply of trimmed and bleached cards in PSA holders), or a card so badly off-center without either the O.C. designation or a REALISTIC grade taking the centering into consideration, he suspects foul play.

PS: Color bleedthrough on '33 Gs is commonplace in ALL grades, and quite normal.

Hammer, a scan isn't the most reliable way to tell if a card is trimmed or not...so, who knows if its been trimmed. I've seen plenty of cards that should have an OC, but don't. All of this has nothing to do with a "crack and replace" scam.

Aconte thinks phatty should be a grader. Psa could definitely use you.
They might not be able to pay you in burgers though. I hear scrapple
is the food of choice. Aconte hopes Phatty likes scrapple. If not
Aconte would be sad. Aconte hates scrapple but likes to know
Phatty is full and not hungry. When Phatty is hungry he is not allowed
to Aconte's house. Phatty is messy and Aconte thinks sloppy people
are bad.

Can Phatty grade these? I have no burgers to pay you but Aconte
needs answers and Phatty needs to practice to earn scrapple.
