I think I might have heard something, but perhaps it was just a gnat.

Sidesteping the chest-thumping, there is something interesting in this discussion. Apparently, there are items in all of the "linked" cards that are suspicious to the more learned members of this community. Confining the discussion to the PSA slabs...and, if one ignores the Red Mans (sorry aconte), the vast majority of the cards (all except one...the 30's hockey card) come from the "Baker era" at PSA (judging from the cert. number or the PSA hologram on the back). This has some interesting implications for his current employer.

aconte -- what's up with Redmans? They certainly seem to generate controversy among the grading companies -- given your experience and also that of rgold. hmmmmm

Srs1a,

Three of the cards are bad eights too me. The Slaughter is horrible. It
is in that mylar wrapping or whatever. I believe it is oversized but the corners
are not the greatest either. Two of the other have some bad tabs for
starters. I can't be certain but the corners don't look that great either.
I probably have Sgc 84's that have better corners.

As far as the Pafko, I at one point had the option to buy that and the
Slaughter. I had both cards in my possession for a while. The Pafko
card is shorter than most red man cards. It may be trimmed (except
if you ask Reza at Psa). The bottom tab on that card is horrible.
Overall, it is a terrible eight. It should be either a Psa 6/7 or noted
as n1 - evid of trimming. The funny part is I may bid on this card.
My guess is that flyliner28 will bid and I can not let it go cheap.
I'll throw a bid in to either let it go at a decent price or to bump up
my overall GPA on the Psa set registry.

I'm not sure what I should do. What do you think?
