I just posted one of the Rarest sports comic books known to exist. It is in spectacular condition and is professionally graded by CGC. It is the equivalent of a PSA 9 and is the best known copy.
Take a look when you get the chance by clicking on the RECENT ADDITIONS button on my HOME page. It is on the second page in, so click Next 25 books when you get there.

Cool item, for sure, but

CGC 9.4 = NM
PSA 9 = MINT (= SGC 96)

The differences between comics grading and card grading is pretty confusing to me...then add coins and I'm lost.

Something being "the equivalent of a PSA 9" could be a variety of conditions with the way PSA grades stuff.

and by the way srs1a, this equation does not compute!
PSA 9 = MINT (= SGC 96)

haha!

8 PSA-9's crossed over

1 - SGC 98
4 - SGC-96's
2 - SGC-92

I see what you mean and had no idea of the differences between the companies.
CGC is the leader in comic book grading and they are verry tough, as they should be.
This particular book was never distributed on the newsstands and that is why the condition is so spectacular. It is a file copy and was kept stored in a box for over 50 years.

With comics it is far more difficult to find them in the NM state because they are not simply a two sided object but have an interior that was stapled and meant to be opened and read. They are much larger and far more delicate than the cards and consequently, wear from reading, handling and storage conditions is common. A NM Golden age book is a very rare item. This issue did not seem to survive well, as I am sure the kids who purchaced it read it and most likely cut out the front and back cover pictures to hang on their wall. In over 30 years of dealing I have only seen one other copy in an original collection and it was low grade.
